Starting a new blog!

Chris Ebert is starting a new blog focused on cloud technologies, focusing on AWS and serverless systems, and his journey in tech.

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog!

I'm Chris Ebert, and I am excited to share my insights and stories from over a decade of experience working professionally in the tech industry. I have a passion for cloud technologies, especially AWS and serverless applications. My hands-on experience includes designing, building, and maintaining applications and services in the cloud, with a recent focus on building serverless applications.

Previously, I maintained a blog but had to pause it during a challenging period in my personal life. I lost my father-in-law to Multiple myeloma in November 2020 after his five-year battle with the disease, and then my father passed away from Pancreatic cancer at the end of 2021. Then, in 2022, my mother was diagnosed with and is currently battling Ovarian cancer. These challenging experiences have strengthened my resilience and deepened my appreciation for living in the moment, family, and friends.

I love attending tech conferences like AWS re:Invent, which I attended in person for the first time in 2022 and again in 2023. These events are a great way to network and stay current with the latest technology and cloud computing developments.

I welcome you to subscribe to updates for this blog by joining my mailing list. I promise to respect your inbox and pledge not to overwhelm you with emails or SPAM. On this site, I'll explore topics including cloud technology, AWS, serverless computing, distributed systems, DevOps, cloud architecture, observability, and more. I am working to balance a demanding full-time job, a family life with two wonderful young kids, and personal fitness and friendships. I plan to post here at least once a month.

I'd love to connect and hear from you. Feel free to comment on my posts or email me at anything @chrisebert.net. Let's make this a space for learning, sharing, and growing together. You can also connect with me on X/Twitter or LinkedIn.

Looking forward to this adventure,

Chris
